Battle of the Teton Basin (1994)
FIRE ON THE WESTERN FRONTIER
All Zach Hannah wants is to be left alone, high in the mountains, with his Indian bride. But as long as Sean Michael Devlin lives, Zach can find no peace. Now Zach must track down this man -- the former friend who stole his wife and left him to die at the hands of the Blackfeet. Its is an odyssey of vengeance that will lead him from the Yellowstone to St. Louis, along the Santa Fe Trail, and back to the high country -- where the mountains echo with the gunfire and blood cries of cataclysmic war. As mountain men and Blackfoot braves clash in an epic battle that will change the course of history in the American West, Zach and Devlin square off in a final reckoning ... that only one of them will survive KINDLE EDITION LINK

Signet Books (New York) 349 pp ISBN: 0-451-17829-7 The conclusion of my first Signet trilogy, with the previous novels being High Country and Green River Rendezvous. Had an opportunity to weave the Hannah/Devlin story into a lot of historical events in this book, and even threw in a surprise ending. All in all I was happy with the Zach Hannah trilogy, and thought it a good story set in a fairly accurate representation of the mountain man era.
