The final battle, desperate and heroic... The Civil War would never be over for angry, bitter Jack Dalton. Still lusting to murder, he headed out west, robbing Yankee payrolls and living with the Nez Perce Indians.
But the love of a beautiful woman and the lives of a proud, honorable people wrought changes all the killing in the world could not. For in a savage wilderness of bullets and blood, ruthless goldseekers, and bushwhacking landgrabbers, Dalton found something bigger and better than himself, something worth living for ... even dying for.

Based on the events of the Nez Perce War (1877), and fairly accurate historically. I had written in passing a number of times about Civil War soldiers heading West in search of a new beginning following the end of that conflict, and this novel gave me the opportunity to explore that phenomenon in more depth.
